TAI CHI CH'UAN
This is a centuries old classic form of Chinese exercise practiced world wide for health, longevity and the development of physical and mental well being. It is enjoyed by people of all ages. Instructor: Paul J. Wallace. Held at the Wickliffe Community/Senior Center. See schedule above for dates of classes. Fee: $30 a person or $39 for husband and wife or parent and sibling if signing up together. $7 Drop in fee.

"Health for Life" Aerobics
Age tailored fitness aerobic class, hour long, safe and fun class which strengthens and tones muscles, reduces body fat, reduces stress, improves cardiovascular endurance and feels good all over. Instructor: Kathy Brown. Held at Wickliffe Community/Senior Center. See schedule above for dates of classes. Fee: $30 for 6 classes, $56 for 12 classes, and $7 for walk in (with no registration fees).

Zumba class is a chance to learn the newest fitness routine. An intensely fun workout combining cha-cha, salsa, reggae and hip-hop dance moves. Great for teens and adults. Bring a water bottle & towel. Wear good exercise shoes. $56 for 1 day per week, $84 for 2 days per week, 7 week session. $10 Drop in fee. Instructed by Vida Thorington.

We have a demonstration class for “STRONG by Zumba”, October 18th 6:00-6:45pm.
It will be $8 per person to participate in demo class (max 10 participants).
CHAIR YOGA CLASS
Chair yoga is a modified form of yoga on or around a chair. We gently stretch and strengthen, with proper breathing, all the major systems. All glands of the body get a workout to function more efficiently. You will increase strength and flexibility which will de-stress your life. There are many sitting poses, but we also use the chair as a prop at times. $40 for 6 week session. $9 Drop in fee. Instructor: Casandra Shofar
Held on Wednesdays at 5:30 pm-6:15 pm.
Instructed by Casandra Shofar is an ancient approach to health and well being. Through guided yoga postures, breathing techniques, relaxation, and meditation, you will experience increased energy within a relaxed body and quiet mind. Come experience the effects of bringing body, mind, and spirit into harmony. All levels of yoga are welcome. Bring a mat and small pillow or blanket. Do not eat for 2 hours prior to class. $45 for 6 weeks; $9 Drop in fee.

Dancing is a profound yet practical exercise for people of all ages. Class teaches the beginning to intermediate bronze stage of Rumba, Waltz, Foxtrot and East Coast Swing. Instructor: Andrew Calori. $40 single/

FOUNDATION FOR SOCIAL Dance CLASSES
Basic fundamentals of social dancing; Rumba, Cha-Cha, Swing and Freestyle/Hustle. These are the most popular dances in the nightclubs. Instructor: Andrew Calori. $20 for 4-week session.

Polynesian Dance Classes

Turkish Dance Classes
Learn exotic Turkish dancing while you tone and tighten your muscles. This is a fun way to exercise and learn to dance at the same time. Held at the Wickliffe Community/Senior Center. Instructor: Dahmia. See schedule above for dates of classes. Fee: $40 (8-week sessions), $7 drop in fee.

Class Registration & Related Information
With guidance and consultation from the Recreation Director, instructors determine class pricing, size, make-ups, refunds and cancellations. Refunds are only offered in extreme circumstances. Classes may be cancelled due to low enrollment. Payments should not be made to instructors, but to recreation department representatives. A $25 processing fee will be assessed on all returned checks. A minimal processing fee will be assessed to all refunds. Participants acknowledge and assume the potential risk of injury by the participation in recreation classes and agree to waive, release and relinquish all claims against the City of Wickliffe and its representatives arising from the participation in such classes. Management reserves the right to completely and fully resolve any issues that may arise from the participation in recreation classes.
Class Registration / Payment
Unless otherwise noted, classes and programs are offered to both residents and non-residents. Fees may vary. Pre-registration is requested and expected for evening recreation classes that are offered at the Wickliffe Community/Senior Center. Contact the Recreation Department at 943-7120 to pre-register for a class. We ask for payment within seven days of a phone reservation to hold a spot in the class. Discounts are offered when compared to “drop-in” rates over a complete session. Make payment by cash or by check to the “City of Wickliffe” prior to the start of a new session. Checks can be mailed to the Recreation Department at 28730 Ridge Road or payment can be made in person at the Recreation Department located in the rear entrance of City Hall from 8AM-4:30PM. Community/Senior Center Access
To better manage and secure the facility, we ask that you access the Community/Senior Center through the main covered and south entrances that lead through the lobby. Make sure to check in with the Building Monitor at the Community Center when arriving for a class. Payments for classes may be made and directions to rooms will be given.
We often take photos at our special events, programs and camps to preserve the memory of past and to promote future activities. These photos are exclusively used by the City of Wickliffe and may appear in our publications both electronically and in print.
Cancellation of Classes
Each instructor determines the size of the class he/she wishes to teach. If classes must be cancelled due to insufficient enrollment, those who have prepaid will be notified and refunds will be made.
If an instructor must postpone a class, a make-up lesson will be scheduled. If the student misses a class, most programs will not allow for make-up.
No refunds will be made after the first class meeting commences unless instructor gives permission.
