Indoor and Outdoor Fun

It’s never too early to join in! Sports activities and day camps can help your children develop lifelong habits of exercise and encourage them to learn social skills beyond the classroom.  Here is your source for sports programs, age 3 to 18, both city-run and community managed.   Sports and day camp provide opportunities for physical development, learning, and sportsmanship. Help build your child’s character on a foundation of healthy competition and teamwork.

Sports Programs

Pee Wee Beach Ball Volleyball Open Gym – Supervised play on Thursday nights for grades K-3 from 6-7:30PM, at Wickliffe Elementary School Gymnasium.  $1 at the door.  Program already in progress.

Volleyball Open Gym – Supervised play on Tuesday nights for grades 4-8 from 6-8PM at Wickliffe Middle School small gym.  $1 at the door.  3rd graders with volleyball experience welcome to participate. Program is in progress and runs through May 16, 2017. 4th Graders who are new to Volleyball are welcome to attend.

Friday Night Basketball Open Gym – Supervised play on Friday nights for grades 5 – 8 from 7-9PM.  $1 at the door.  Program runs through May 19, 2017. Wickliffe Residents only. Fridays alternate 5th-6th grade and
7-8th grade. Program already in progress.

Blue Devil Rec. Basketball!  For boys and girls in grades 3-6.  Practices on Wednesdays nights at Wickliffe Middle School and games on Saturday mornings at Wickliffe High School. Register now at the Wickliffe Recreation. Dept. $60 Residents.  / $65 Non-residents. Non-residents registration begins Nov 1. Opening day Dec 10 at Wickliffe High School Gym at 9:00am.  Limited to the first 80 who register and make payment. This is a joint effort with Wickliffe Recreation Department and Wickliffe High School Varsity Basketball.
If numbers allow girls and boys will play in separate leagues.

Pee Wee Basketball League is for boys and girls in grades 1 & 2 (Kindergarten children ready for basketball are welcome) limited to the first 64 who register. Held Thursday nights at Wickliffe Elementary School Gymnasium.  A fun way to introduce youngsters to the basics of basketball. Equipment and rules designed to accommodate ages of children. $40 residents/$50 non-residents. Registration begins December 5. Program will start Jan 5, 2017. Coaches are needed!!
PEE WEE BASKETBALL REGISTRATION FORM

Wickliffe Junior Olympics – “Wick fit Wednesdays” for ages 7-14, 6-8pm, meets at the Wickliffe Middle School Fitness Room.  WJO Fit Wednesdays run through May 17, 2017. WJO holds special events on Saturdays (Charity Runs/Mall walks/Motivational Movie Nights). Stop in at the Recreation Department to register, no fee, donations accepted.
JUNIOR OLYMPICS REGISTRATION FORM

Co-Ed Softball League needs teams for the 2017 season. If you have a team and a sponsor, please call the Recreation Department at 440-943-7120. A meeting will be held in March.

COMMUNITY RUN SPORTS PROGRAMS

This is a community information list only. These are Wickliffe based organizations that serve Wickliffe residents. The City does not run these organizations. Please use the contact numbers below to receive additional information about the league or sport.

Wickliffe Soccer Club

The Wickliffe Soccer Club offers competitive soccer leagues for players of any ability and experience level. Seasons begin in the fall and last about two months, then continue in the spring for approximately six weeks.

Registration for the 2016-17 season. In our split-season format, your registration and fee cover both the Fall 2016 and Spring 2017 sessions.
Please note the following registration guidelines and deadlines:

U6 Division (Coed)
The U6 coed division offers instructional coed play for children in pre-K and kindergarten. Fee is $45 if paid by Friday, Aug. 5, 2016. Fee increases to $50 thereafter. Final registration deadline is Friday, Aug. 26. Practices and games begin after Labor Day.
U8 Division (Coed)
The U8 Coed division offers instructional coed play for children in 1st and 2nd grades. Fee is $45 if paid by Friday, Aug. 5, 2016. Fee increases to $50 thereafter. Final registration deadline is Friday, Aug. 26. Practices and games begin after Labor Day.
U10 Division (Boys/Coed)
Mostly for players in the 3rd and 4th grades. Players cannot turn 10 before Aug. 1, 2016. Fee is $80 if paid by Friday, July 1, 2016. Fee increases to $85 thereafter. Final registration deadline is Friday, July 22. Practices and games begin in August.  
PLEASE NOTE: No 2nd graders or players who are age-eligible for U8 will be placed in the U10 division until all players who age-wise belong there are placed on teams.  If any openings remain then anyone requesting to move up early will be considered by the U8 Commissioner and board.

G10 Division (Girls Only)
 Mostly for players in the 3rd and 4th grades. Players cannot turn 10 before Aug. 1, 2016. Fee is $80 if paid by Friday, July 10, 2016. Fee increases to $85 thereafter. Final registration deadline is Friday, July 22. Practices and games begin in August.

Registration fee includes a team jersey for U8 players. For older players, it includes a team jersey and socks. Each child is required to provide his/her own shoes and shin guards.
(NOTE: Shin guards are required for all practices and games.)
