POLICE OFFICER LATERAL ENTRY

SAFETY DEPARTMENT-CITY OF WICKLIFFE, OHIO

Applicant Requirements:

  • Applicant must be a citizen of the United States
  • Must have valid Ohio driver’s license
  • Applicant must be 21 years of age and less than 37 years of age on the date of Certification by the Wickliffe Civil Service Commission
  • Applicant must be a high school graduate or have obtained a GED certificate and provide a copy of the diploma or certificate or a copy of college degree with application
  • Applicant must provide an Ohio Peace Officer Training Certificate; OPOTC certification must be current and up to date with all training requirements
  • Applicant must have proof of 2 years of full time, uninterrupted police service
  • Applicant must pass OPOTA fitness agility test at the 30% standard or provide a TRI-C agility test certification
  • Thorough background investigation including:
    1. Oral interview and personal/work history
    2. Background investigation
    3. Psychological examination
    4. CVSA truth verification
    5. Written question exercise
    6. Interview with Chief of Police
    7. Post Offer Medical exam/drug screen

Wickliffe Police Department - information

Wickliffe Service Department Laborer I

The City of Wickliffe is seeking a full time employee for the Service Department.

This job requires a class A CDL. Must have a High School Diploma or GED. Must have experience in the running of basic and heavy equipment. Must have a clean driving record and be able to pass a drug test and background check. Must have 3 to 5 year’s construction background (sewers, roads, concrete, plowing, snow and ice removal, and/or all aspects of building and grounds maintenance.) Any specialty skill would be a plus I/E HVAC, masonry, certified electrician, certified plumber, Etc.

Must be able to work outdoors in extreme heat, cold, rain, and humidity. Must be able to work varying shifts (1st,2nd, and 3rd) Must be able to lift a minimum of 80 lbs. May be on call 24/7. Must be able to work in confined spaces while installing sewers, manholes, digging holes. May be exposed to dead animals, bees, dirt, dust, fumes, poison ivy/sumac and pollen.

This position will include overtime, both scheduled and unscheduled. Snow and ice control overtime is MANDATORY. This position includes full Medical/Dental benefits.
